What does “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” mean?
It is used to mean that the judgement of what is and what is not beautiful depends on the opinions and the biases of the person making the judgement. e.g. a parent will always say how beautiful their newborn baby looks, when others who are not related to the baby may in fact believe it to NOT be beautiful.
